Your City Light bill is going up

Still reeling from a recent power outate? Get this: The Seattle City Council voted 5-4 today to increase City Light rates 13.8 percent effective January 1.

KOMO's Bryan Johnson reports that council members said the increase was necessary to preserve the utility's bond rating, to make repairs, and to close a budget deficit.

The rate increase will affect all Seattle customers.
